 
Code Enforcement Officer
The Town Code Enforcement Officer's primary role is to handle building permits and enforcement of and/or questions relating to the New York State Building Code.
The Officer is also responsible for enforcing all local zoning and land use regulations.

- Assists residents in obtaining building permits.
- Processes applications for Planning and Zoning Board.
- Provides Flood Plain information as well as issue Federal Flood Plain permits if necessary.
- Meets with prospective developers.
- Provides information regarding required setbacks and zoning issues.
- Provides rules and regulations of New York State Building Code.
- Enforces Fire and Property Maintenance regulations per the New York State Building Code.
Property Identification
NYS Code requires House numbering as follows:
- Buildings shall have approved address numbers
- Numbers must be placed in a position where they are legible and visable from the street or road fronting the property
- Numbers shall contrast with background
- Address numbers shall be Arabic numerals or Alphabetic letters
- Numbers must be a minimum of 4 inches high, with a minimum stroke width of 1/2 inch
